- Trunk of Tricks -
Many people grew up playing with magic sets—small boxes filled with secrets, tricks, and illusions. These sets introduced them to the art of sleight of hand, where black and white objects played a central role: the magician’s wand, the coiled rope, the top hat. Such elements became the foundation for ‘Trunk of Tricks’, a series of works that explore the visual and symbolic power of black and white. Each piece within this series transforms the language of illusion into tangible form. The recurring interplay of black and white acts as a visual metaphor for contrast, deception, and transformation, much like the objects of early magic tricks that appeared and disappeared with a simple gesture. Across all these works ‘Trunk of Tricks’ weaves a common thread of transformation, illusion, and play. The boundaries between reality and trickery blur, inviting the viewer into a world where objects shift in meaning, where perception itself becomes the ultimate sleight of hand.
